Summary: The Technical Instructor for the Unity Game Engine will play a pivotal role in delivering a comprehensive bootcamp curriculum aimed at developing early career technical hires into skilled professionals in various game development roles. The position requires a passion for teaching and mentoring, with responsibilities including curriculum delivery, student engagement, and support for Skills City projects. The instructor will also be involved in evaluating student progress and providing feedback to enhance the learning experience. This is a contract role for UK-based candidates, lasting 12 weeks, starting on May 6, 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering and supporting all aspects of the defined Unity Game Engine Bootcamp curriculum.
  • Demonstrating strong knowledge of Unity Game Development, including Unity Game Engine, C#, game design principles, and OOP.
  • Ensuring student engagement and offering support in Skills City industry projects.
  • Guiding and mentoring students towards achieving technical expertise and career opportunities.
  • Conducting technical mock interviews with interns.
  • Supporting the Skills City team in timetabling and monitoring student learning progress.
  • Administering LMS tasks such as scheduling sessions and managing attendance.
  • Evaluating and providing feedback on learners’ activities and submissions promptly.
  • Working closely with the learning strategy team to maintain a consistent program experience.
  • Providing content and class feedback to drive improvements.
  • Being available for official communication throughout working hours.
  • Supporting with other tasks as required.

Key Skills:

  • Minimum of 1 year teaching experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge and experience of Unity Game Engine from both artist and programmer perspectives.
  • Understanding of AR/VR and AI for game development is a bonus.
  • Curriculum design and content creation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications.
  • Project management experience.
  • Ability to deliver engaging teaching and learning sessions remotely.
  • Excellent stand-up delivery and facilitation skills.
  • A passion for learning and developing talent.
  • Self-driven, friendly but assertive, with excellent communication skills.
