Summary: The role of Interim Technical Finance Specialist involves leading the implementation and optimization of the TechnologyOne / OneCouncil ERP finance systems for a North London Local Authority. The specialist will ensure that finance processes, system configuration, reporting, and controls are effectively aligned with organizational needs. This position requires collaboration with various departments to enhance finance operations and system efficiency. The contract is expected to last between 3 to 6 months with a hybrid working arrangement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting ERP finance module configuration across GL, AP, AR, Assets and Procurement.
- Acting as a finance SME for TechnologyOne / OneCouncil.
- Supporting end-to-end process design across P2P, O2C and R2R.
- Translating finance requirements into system solutions.
- Supporting design, testing, data migration, go-live and hypercare.
- Identifying system improvements, automation opportunities and process efficiencies.
- Drafting finance system policies, procedures and user guidance.
- Working closely with Finance, Procurement, HR, IT and external partners.
Key Skills:
- Finance system / ERP implementation experience.
- Strong understanding of finance modules and end-to-end finance processes.
- Experience with TechnologyOne / OneCouncil would be highly desirable.
- Similar ERP experience such as Unit4, Agresso, Oracle, SAP, Dynamics or OneAdvanced may also be suitable.
- Technical finance experience across areas such as assets, capital, taxation, budgeting or forecasting.
- Experience drafting policies, procedures or system documentation.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills.
- CCAB qualified or actively studying towards CCAB / CIPFA / CIMA / CFA / ACT.

Technical Finance Specialist - Interim
Spencer Clarke Group are working with a North London Local Authority to appoint an Interim Technical Finance Specialist to support a major ERP finance systems programme.
The role will act as a finance lead for the implementation and optimisation of TechnologyOne / OneCouncil, ensuring finance processes, system configuration, reporting and controls are fit for purpose.
What's on Offer
- Rate: £355 - £475 per day (Outside)
- Contract: 3-6 months initially
- Hybrid: c.1 day onsite every week
- Location: North/Central London
- Start: ASAP / subject to notice
