Summary: The Technical Facilities Engineer is responsible for monitoring and inspecting project activities in alignment with management milestones, providing technical support during construction phases, and ensuring compliance with specifications and sustainability requirements. The role involves leading technical input for capital investment projects, conducting quality assurance audits, and liaising with various teams to ensure project success. Regular reporting on project status and participation in design reviews are also key components of this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and inspect project activities in line with management milestones.
- Provide technical support during construction phases of projects.
- Support the development of specifications and ensure compliance with sustainability requirements.
- Attend and contribute to scheduled design reviews.
- Lead technical input for mechanical, electrical, and building fabric requirements.
- Liaise with Technical Facilities engineers to ensure standards are met.
- Ensure design review maturity before proceeding to the next stage.
- Advise and coach project management teams on issues and resolutions.
- Review assets to be removed and installed during projects.
- Liaise with Asset Management and TFS teams regarding asset information.
- Provide feedback to the design team prior to Final Design Review.
- Summarize project status regarding design reviews for management.
- Monitor and report on build aspects and conduct QA audits.
- Attend project progress meetings to address QA report issues.
- Interface with design and project teams for As Built drawings.
- Ensure compilation of the Health & Safety File during the project.
- Attend and comment on commissioning and testing of assets.
- Review the completed Health & Safety File for relevant information.
- Share Health & Safety file information with site stakeholders.
Key Skills:
- Understanding of the construction process and building systems.
- Knowledge of Construction Design and Management Regulations.
- Understanding of quality management systems.
- Familiarity with British and European Standards.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and designs.
