Technical Delivery Manager - SQL Server/Infrastructure

Our Tier 1 banking client is seeking an experienced Technical Delivery Manager to lead a strategic SQL Server database encryption programme across a large enterprise environment.

This is a hands-on technical delivery role managing the successful implementation of SQL Server encryption solutions, coordinating multiple technical teams including Database Administration (DBA), Infrastructure, Security, Development and Testing.

The position is hybrid 3 days per week in the City of London and inside IR35.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of a large-scale SQL Server database encryption programme.
• Manage project plans, milestones, risks, issues and dependencies.
• Coordinate DBA, Infrastructure, Security, Development and Application Support teams.
• Oversee implementation, testing, performance validation and business readiness.
• Manage stakeholder communications, governance, change control and project reporting.
• Support implementation of disaster recovery and production deployment activities.
• Ensure successful knowledge transfer and project handover.

Essential Experience

• Proven Delivery Manager, Technical Delivery Manager or Infrastructure Project Manager.
• Experience delivering SQL Server, database platform or infrastructure projects within large enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of SQL Server environments and database technologies.
• Experience managing complex technical programmes involving multiple engineering teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management, governance, planning, risk and dependency management.
• Financial services or other large enterprise experience.

Desirable

• Knowledge of SQL Server Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) and Extensible Key Management (EKM).
• SQL Server migrations, upgrades or platform modernisation.
• Azure infrastructure or Azure SQL.
• Infrastructure, cloud or database security programmes.
