The Opportunity
An established engineering consultancy is looking for an experienced Technical Delivery Manager to join their team on a 6-month contract.
You will play a key role in managing software delivery engagements, overseeing governance, coordinating engineering teams and ensuring successful client outcomes.
This is an ideal opportunity for a technically literate delivery professional who understands modern engineering practices and can confidently manage client relationships, risks and delivery performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and manage delivery governance, including planning, execution and engagement closure.
- Coordinate communication between clients and delivery teams, ensuring clear visibility of workstreams and stakeholders.
- Own delivery reporting, including RAG status, risks, dependencies and governance reviews.
- Manage engagement risks and dependencies, protecting delivery timelines and commercial outcomes.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and promote Agile and engineering excellence practices.
- Run delivery health checks to monitor team performance and engagement health.
- Oversee engagement closure, including deliverable sign-off, reviews and knowledge capture.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience managing end-to-end software delivery engagements within consultancy or client-facing environments.
- Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.
- Understanding of modern engineering practices, including CI/CD, DORA metrics and quality engineering.
- Strong technical literacy, with the ability to challenge and guide engineering teams.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including senior client engagement.
- Demonstrable experience managing risks, dependencies and delivery governance.
- Experience producing and presenting delivery reports, RAG status and risk logs.
- Ability to coach and coordinate multidisciplinary teams while adapting delivery processes to the engagement.
Desirable Experience
- Previous background as a Software Engineer or Technical Lead.
- Experience across Time & Materials, squad-based and outcome-based delivery models.
- Familiarity with cloud, DevOps and test automation.
- Experience setting up new engagements, onboarding teams and establishing delivery processes from scratch.
