Summary: The Technical Data Analyst role focuses on supporting a major data transformation program for a leading insurance business, specifically involving the migration of data platforms to Databricks within an Azure environment. The position requires a hands-on approach to analyze source data, document specifications, and engage with stakeholders throughout the migration lifecycle. The role is primarily remote with occasional in-person requirements in the South West. This contract position is initially for six months but has long-term potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed analysis of source data and existing data landscapes
- Produce and maintain source-to-target mapping documentation
- Analyse data quality, data lineage and transformation requirements
- Work closely with Data Engineers to prepare and define migration requirements
- Document business and technical data specifications
- Engage with business and technical stakeholders throughout the migration life cycle
Key Skills:
- Proven experience as a Technical Data Analyst on data migration programmes
- Strong Databricks experience, ideally within migration or modernisation initiatives
- Experience working within Azure data environments
- Excellent source-to-target mapping and data analysis skills
- Insurance sector experience is essential
- Strong stakeholder management and documentation capabilities

Mostly remote, 1 day per month in the South West
Leading Insurance business is looking for an experienced Technical Data Analyst to join a major data transformation programme, supporting the migration of data platforms to Databricks within an Azure environment.
Role:
- Perform detailed analysis of source data and existing data landscapes
- Produce and maintain source-to-target mapping documentation
- Analyse data quality, data lineage and transformation requirements
- Work closely with Data Engineers to prepare and define migration requirements
- Document business and technical data specifications
- Engage with business and technical stakeholders throughout the migration life cycle
Skills/Experience:
- Proven experience as a Technical Data Analyst on data migration programmes
