Summary: The Technical Consultant (Migrations) role involves working within the Education development team to execute data tasks and support large-scale customer data migration activities, specifically in the HR and payroll portfolio. This hands-on position requires strong communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to troubleshoot mass data migration tasks. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with data privacy and security standards while collaborating with stakeholders to maintain data integrity and optimize performance. This is a full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract based in Leeds or remote in the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilise, manipulate, manage, update, validate, and troubleshoot customer HR and payroll data for single data or bulk update requests.
- Design and enhance best practices while ensuring security and business continuity.
- Generate bespoke customer reports using SSRS and Excel, and review existing scripts for performance optimization.
- Implement best practices to maintain live database integrity.
- Ensure compliance with IRIS Enterprise, data privacy, and security standards.
- Liaise with the IRIS projects team to ensure timely execution of data tasks according to customer requirements.
- Maintain GDPR regulations and data security at all times.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Consultant to join our Education development team. You will be working as part of the IRIS Engineering and Customer implementation function specifically on our HR & payroll portfolio.
This is a ‘hands-on’ technical role working within a team to execute data tasks and support large scale customer data migration activities.
You will need to be highly motivated, have strong communication and problem-solving skills. A team player that can rise to the challenge of working in a fast-paced environment and prepared to learn and apply new technical skills. You will also be able to troubleshoot mass data migration tasks to identify errors, recommend and execute remedial actions.
What will you be doing?
- Utilise, manipulate, manage, update, validate, and troubleshoot customer HR and payroll data as part of single data or bulk update requests for customers.
- In addition to designing and enhancing best practice, you will work with key stakeholders to ensure security, business continuity and customers are always the prime focus.
- Generation of bespoke customer reports using SSRS and Excel. Review existing scripts and reports to improve performance and ensure they are optimized for large datasets.
- Implement best practise as part of the data update process to ensure live data base integrity
- The successful candidate will ensure compliance with IRIS Enterprise, data privacy and security standards.
- Liaise with IRIS projects team to ensure data tasks are written and executed on time and to the customers’ requirements
- Ensuring GDPR regulations and data security is maintained at all times
