Summary: The role of Technical Business/Data Analyst involves supporting Tesco IMS in a significant transformation program aimed at enhancing data capabilities and transitioning from legacy systems. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure successful data migration and integration while maintaining high-quality standards. The analysts will also be responsible for developing ETL pipelines and conducting thorough data analysis to support system transformations. This is a hybrid role based in Edinburgh, requiring an initial presence in the office two days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the creation of a new data platform, ensuring seamless migration and provisioning of data from Legacy systems.
- Gather and translate business requirements into functional specifications, supporting solution design and bridging the gap between business and technology.
- Develop and optimise ETL pipelines, ensuring smooth data flow and transformation.
- Conduct testing, create test cases, and uphold quality standards in the data migration and deployment process.
- Perform detailed data analysis, data modelling, and data integration to support system transformations.
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across business and technical teams to ensure successful implementation of data solutions.
- Document processes, workflows, and data-related decisions using Confluence, SharePoint, and Jira.
- Work with Microsoft Fabric and Power BI for data integration and reporting.
Key Skills:
- Strong experience in data analysis and business analysis within financial services or insurance.
- Expertise in ETL pipeline design, data modelling, and data integration (APIs, SFTP).
- Experience in software delivery life cycle, systems implementations, and data warehouse solutions.
- Hands-on experience with data reporting and dashboard development using Power BI.
- Ability to analyse data transformations and ensure accuracy in data exchange processes.
- Familiarity with deployment processes and quality assurance methodologies (though not a DevOps role).
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence business and technical teams.
- Proficiency in Confluence, SharePoint, Jira, and Visio.
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric (highly desirable).
