Summary: The Technical Business Analyst (Power BI) role is focused on enhancing enterprise analytics and reporting capabilities within a data-driven organization undergoing digital transformation. The position involves collaborating with IT and stakeholders to gather requirements, optimize workflows, and implement data frameworks using Power BI. This role is crucial for aligning data infrastructure with strategic goals and supporting cloud-based solutions. The contract is for 18 months and is hybrid based in Birmingham.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define data/reporting needs and document business requirements
- Analyse and improve data processes to support efficient and accurate reporting
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications for data and analytics teams
- Contribute to the development of data models, ETL processes, and system documentation
- Support UAT, training, and adoption of new analytics platforms
- Ensure all reporting solutions meet compliance, governance, and organisational objectives
- Bridge communication between technical teams and business users for aligned outcomes
Key Skills:
- Strong background in business analysis, requirements gathering, and process improvement
- Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, Qlik)
- Knowledge of data modelling, architecture, and reporting design
- Familiarity with data governance, privacy regulations, and compliance practices
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to translate technical solutions into business value
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and able to work in fast-paced environments
