Technical Business Analyst – Global Bank, London - 12 month FTC
A global bank with a London branch is hiring a Technical Business Analyst to join its Fintech team, reporting to the Deputy Head of Fintech and working closely with the IT Project Manager. This is a hands on role: you'll be writing code yourself, not just documenting requirements for someone else to build.
What you'll be doing
- Gathering and shaping business requirements, then turning them into technical specs the dev team can build from
- Mapping workflows and assessing how new requests will land on existing systems
- Acting as the main link between business teams and developers, so you can hold your own on both sides
- Writing your own scripts and Python programs to automate repetitive BAU tasks
- Using SQL to pull and check data, testing APIs, and sanity checking technical feasibility with the architects
- Helping troubleshoot issues for internal users
- Coordinating with Desktop, Infrastructure and Network teams to get solutions delivered end to end
- Pitching in on releases and rollouts, with occasional out of hours cover if something breaks
What they're looking for
- Python and SQL are non negotiable, not nice to haves
- Solid debugging and troubleshooting instincts
- Some previous IT support background
- A track record of working well as part of a team
- Degree preferred
- Several years of relevant development or BA experience, ideally with some banking or corporate exposure
- At least 3 years' work experience in the UK
- Able to work in the UK without visa sponsorship, as this role can't support it
Practical details
- Five days a week in the office
- Free lunch provided when you're in
