Summary: The Technical Business Analyst role involves becoming a subject matter expert in core system functionality and acting as a liaison between business/project teams and the development team. The position requires providing analytical expertise to translate business requirements into technical changes. This is a contract position with an initial duration of six months, based in Glasgow with hybrid working arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Become a subject matter expert in core system functionality, data model, and key business processes.
  • Act as a functional SME and interface between business/project teams and the development team.
  • Provide analysis expertise to understand how requirements translate to technical change.
  • Work with Project Managers to agree on work breakdown structure and documentation needs for analysis work packages.
  • Estimate effort for analysis deliverables and meet agreed timelines.
  • Read and comprehend detailed business requirements; validate that these requirements are specific, defined, and achievable.
  • Produce functional specifications that describe the required solution, ensuring clarity and comprehensiveness for the development team.
  • Produce and maintain high-quality analysis artefacts throughout the project life cycle.
  • Support the Development team in translating functional specifications into technical specifications and implementation.
  • Report RAIDs (risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies) and provide regular status updates on analysis deliveries.
  • Achieve excellent business understanding, including knowledge of products and data received into the system and regulatory reporting processes.

Key Skills:

  • Experience in working with Project Managers on analysis work packages.
  • Ability to estimate effort for analysis deliverables.
  • Strong comprehension of business requirements and validation skills.
  • Proficiency in producing clear and comprehensive functional specifications.
  • Experience in maintaining high-quality analysis artefacts.
  • Ability to support the Development team in technical specifications.
  • Experience in reporting RAIDs and providing status updates.
  • Strong understanding of business processes and regulatory reporting.
