Summary: The role of Technical Author involves creating and maintaining technical documentation for a highly regulated defense-related engineering project in Berkshire. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams and a strong understanding of technical concepts. Candidates should have experience in technical writing and familiarity with documentation tools. This is a contract position deemed inside IR35, lasting for 12 months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Write, edit, and maintain technical documents, including user manuals, installation guides, API documentation, and online help resources.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze technical information.
- Organize and structure content to ensure clarity, consistency, and accuracy.
- Use documentation tools and content management systems to develop and manage content.
- Ensure all documentation aligns with company branding and style guidelines.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, tools, and best practices to continually improve documentation processes.
Key Skills:
- FMEA experience, Quality tool (SPC), TCE, NX, P6 (basic knowledge).
- Proven experience as a Technical Author, Technical Writer, or similar role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong understanding of technical concepts and the ability to explain them clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency with documentation tools such as Adobe, Confluence, or Microsoft Word.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development processes is a plus.

Due to increased expansion, our client, a leading nuclear consultant, are looking to add multiple technical authors to a high regulated defence related, engineering project based in Berkshire.

Your duties and responsibilities will be
FMEA experience, Quality tool (SPC), TCE, NX, P6 (basic knowledge)
