Summary: The role of Technical Architect involves joining a growing SME consultancy to deliver critical technology programmes within the UK public sector. The position focuses on designing and delivering technology solutions that support mission-critical business outcomes, requiring a strong ability to translate complex requirements into scalable solution designs. The successful candidate will work on a major transformation programme that shapes large-scale national services. This role demands collaboration with both technical and non-technical stakeholders throughout the project life cycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce high-quality solution architecture and design documentation.
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions and architectural designs.
  • Participate in design authorities, architecture reviews and governance activities.
  • Work closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders across multiple workstreams.
  • Support delivery teams throughout the project life cycle.
  • Contribute to architecture standards, best practices and technical decision-making.

Key Skills:

  • 8+ years' experience within Technical Architecture, Solution Architecture or similar roles.
  • Strong understanding of architecture methodologies, governance and design artefacts.
  • Experience creating solution designs and presenting them to stakeholders.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience with Java (17/21), XML and JSON schemas, relational databases, AWS services including EC2, EKS and S3, and messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ and IBM MQ.
  • Experience using Jira and Confluence.
  • UML modelling and diagram creation experience.

Due to continued project growth, we are seeking an experienced Technical Architect to join a major transformation programme that is helping shape the future of large-scale national services.

This is an opportunity to work on a complex, enterprise-scale environment, designing and delivering technology solutions that support mission-critical business outcomes. The role requires someone who can bridge the gap between business and technology, translating complex requirements into robust, scalable solution designs.
