Summary: The Technical Architect (Investment Systems) role involves leading the architectural integrity of investment platforms, ensuring seamless integration between Portfolio Management Systems (PMS) and accounting frameworks. The position requires a seasoned professional with expertise in investment technology, particularly in PMS, IBOR, and ABOR. The architect will design solutions for complex investment events and optimize reporting architecture for data accuracy. This is a hybrid role based in London for a 6-month contract.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and oversee the implementation of front-to-back architecture covering PMS, IBOR, and ABOR.
- Architect robust solutions for complex investment events, including Capital Calls, distributions, and multi-tier fund structures.
- Lead and participate in Service Design workshops to translate business requirements into scalable, resilient technical blueprints.
- Drive the creation of high-quality architectural artifacts (HLDs, LLDs, and integration patterns) that align with enterprise standards.
- Optimize back-end reporting architecture to ensure data accuracy across regulatory, financial, and impact-based reporting suites.
Key Skills:
- Deep understanding of Investment Management lifecycles, with Private Equity or Private Debt experience preferred.
- Hands-on experience with PMS, IBOR, and ABOR transitions and integrations.
- Mastery of Capital Call mechanics, waterfall distributions, and valuation workflows.
- Proven ability to drive "Service Design" thinking and deliver production-ready outputs.
- Expertise in back-end data modeling for complex financial reporting.
- Ability to translate complex investment jargon into technical requirements for engineering teams and vice versa.
- Comfort challenging the status quo in workshops to ensure long-term architectural health over short-term "fixes".
- A knack for producing documentation that is both technically rigorous and accessible to business stakeholders.
