Summary: The Technical Design & Architect role at Stockley Park, London, involves hands-on configuration, deployment, and upgrade of network and security equipment, primarily focusing on Fortinet and Cisco technologies. Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and understand current configurations of existing networking and security equipment.
  • Prepare, write, and validate new configurations for new and existing devices.
  • Implement changes to live infrastructure following design best practices and operational guidelines.
  • Conduct pre-deployment and post-deployment testing to ensure system stability and security.
  • Support rollout of new hardware and changes to existing hardware, including hands-on installation, configuration loading, and validation.
  • Document all design and configuration changes according to customer policies and operational procedures.
  • Collaborate with wider infrastructure teams, project managers, and security personnel.

Key Skills:

  • Hands-on and design-level experience with Fortinet SD-WAN, Firewalls, Cisco Nexus, Wi-Fi/LAN, and general routing & switching.
  • Proven experience in secure network architecture and configuration management for Fortinet and Cisco environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of enterprise IT infrastructure and network security architectures.
  • Fortinet NSE certifications (NSE4/NSE5/NSE7) and Cisco CCNP/CCIE certifications are desirable.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills.
  • Experience working in high-availability environments with 24/7 operational support.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Role Overview

We are seeking multiple skilled Technical Design & Architect professionals to join an intensive infrastructure programme involving configuration, deployment, and upgrade of network and security equipment. This role is fully onsite at Stockley Park and requires hands-on, tactical professionals who can hit the ground running. You will be working closely with engineering and operations teams to design, configure, load, and modify network and security appliances , focusing on Fortinet and Cisco technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and understand current configurations of existing networking and security equipment.
  • Prepare, write, and validate new configurations for new and existing devices.
  • Implement changes to live infrastructure following design best practices and operational guidelines.
  • Conduct pre-deployment and post-deployment testing to ensure system stability and security.

Mandatory Technical Skills

Candidates must demonstrate hands-on and design-level experience with the following:

  • Fortinet SD-WAN – Design, configuration, and deployment
  • Fortinet Firewalls – Advanced rule sets, NAT, policy routing, configuration writing/loading
  • Cisco Nexus – Switching, Layer 2/3 design, configuration, and implementation
  • Cisco Wi-Fi / LAN – Enterprise-grade wireless and local area network support
  • General Routing & Switching – Multi-vendor experience beneficial
  • Firewall & Network Security Design – Proven experience in secure network architecture
  • Configuration Management – Strong ability to write and load configurations for both Fortinet and Cisco environments

Preferred Qualifications / Experience

  • Strong working knowledge of enterprise IT infrastructure and network security architectures
  • Fortinet NSE certifications (NSE4/NSE5/NSE7) desirable
  • Cisco CCNP/CCIE certifications a plus
  • Proven track record of on-site delivery and technical design under tight timelines
  • Experience working in high-availability environments with 24/7 operational support
