Summary: The Technical Architect role is a 6-month contract focused on leading the design and delivery of IT infrastructure solutions, particularly in the context of a large-scale Azure migration. The position requires a strong background in Microsoft technologies and IT architecture to align infrastructure projects with business objectives. The role involves collaboration with internal teams and third-party suppliers to enhance operational efficiencies and ensure compliance with security frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and design IT infrastructure solutions, ensuring alignment with business needs and future growth.
  • Support and contribute to a large-scale migration from on-premises data centres to Azure.
  • Evaluate system architecture, identifying areas for improvement, risk mitigation, and cost savings.
  • Conduct technical assessments of emerging technologies to enhance operational efficiencies.
  • Work closely with internal teams and third-party suppliers to drive infrastructure projects.
  • Provide technical guidance and support for IT service delivery, including incident, change, and problem management.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs) and security frameworks.
  • Assist in information security risk assessments, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience working as a Technical Architect or Senior Infrastructure Specialist.
  • Strong background in Microsoft technologies, Azure administration, and cloud-native solutions.
  • Experience designing and implementing large-scale IT infrastructure projects.
  • TOGAF certification or equivalent architectural framework knowledge (desirable).
  • Hands-on experience working across networking, security, endpoint management, and cloud platforms.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively across all business levels.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and experience working with third-party suppliers.

Salary (Rate): £450
