Key Responsibilities:
- Own and define the end-to-end target architecture across services, APIs, and operational components.
- Lead early discovery—evaluating options, assessing risks, and shaping decisions at pace.
- Design resilient, secure systems for payment flows covering banking, card schemes, and service provider integrations.
- Set standards for engineering quality: API design, observability, reliability, and deployment.
- Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to turn complex requirements into elegant, scalable solutions.
Key Skills:
- Engineering-first approach with a background in software development.
- Deep payments knowledge with hands-on experience in authorisation, capture, and settlement.
- Integration expertise with PSPs, acquirers, or networks (e.g. Worldpay, Adyen, Stripe, Square, Vocalink).
- Strong understanding of banking and card schemes, both technically and operationally.
- Familiarity with modern tech toolkit: Kotlin, Rust, React/Next.js, Android (or equivalent).
