Summary: The Technical Architect role involves migrating a legacy Ruby on Rails web/API platform to Python-based cloud microservices for a scale-up company. The position requires mentoring the existing team on cloud and engineering practices while collaborating with product teams and lead engineers to define requirements and language choices. This is a hybrid role based in London with flexible working days. The contract is for 6 months with an immediate start date.
Key Responsibilities:
- Migrate a legacy Ruby on Rails web/API platform to Python-based cloud microservices.
- Mentor the existing team on cloud and engineering practices.
- Collaborate with product teams and lead engineers to scope requirements.
- Provide suggestions on programming languages for the migration.
Key Skills:
- AWS (GCP is a bonus).
- Restful APIs.
- Knowledge of ISO27001.
- Previous migration experience.
- Proficiency in Python is a must; Ruby is a bonus.
- Experience working in small to medium-sized companies.
Salary (Rate): £750 daily

I'm working with an exciting scale up who are looking to hire a Technical Architect to migrate a large, legacy Ruby on Rails web/API platform hosted on-premises, to Python-based cloud microservices. You will need to mentor the existing team on the cloud and other engineering practices. You will be working alongside the product teams, lead engineer and others in the organisation to scope requirements and come up with suggestions on which language to move forward with. This is a hybrid role based in London - days are negotiable / as and when needed.
Skills:
- AWS (GCP aswell is a bonus)
- Restful APIs
- Knowledge of ISO27001
- Previous migration experience
- Python is a must
- Ruby is a bonus
- Worked within Small to Medium sized companies previously
