Summary: The Technical Architect role is a 6-month contract position focused on leading the design and delivery of IT infrastructure solutions, particularly in the context of a large-scale migration to Azure. The successful candidate will leverage their expertise in Microsoft technologies and cloud infrastructure to align IT strategies with business objectives. This position requires collaboration with internal teams and third-party suppliers to ensure effective project execution and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and design IT infrastructure solutions, ensuring alignment with business needs and future growth.
- Support and contribute to a large-scale migration from on-premises data centres to Azure.
- Evaluate system architecture, identifying areas for improvement, risk mitigation, and cost savings.
- Conduct technical assessments of emerging technologies to enhance operational efficiencies.
- Work closely with internal teams and third-party suppliers to drive infrastructure projects.
- Provide technical guidance and support for IT service delivery, including incident, change, and problem management.
- Maintain a clear understanding of networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs) and security frameworks.
- Assist in information security risk assessments, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience working as a Technical Architect or Senior Infrastructure Specialist.
- Strong background in Microsoft technologies, Azure administration, and cloud-native solutions.
- Experience designing and implementing large-scale IT infrastructure projects.
- TOGAF certification or equivalent architectural framework knowledge (desirable).
- Hands-on experience working across networking, security, endpoint management, and cloud platforms.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively across all business levels.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and experience working with third-party suppliers.
