Summary: A Senior Technical Architect is needed for a government services client near Milton Keynes, requiring SC or DV Security Clearance. The role involves working in a secure environment and demands strong technical skills, particularly in enterprise and virtual technologies. The position emphasizes experience in cloud migration, DevSecOps, and the creation of technical documentation. The contract is for 6 months and is classified as inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work in an SC Security Cleared environment.
- Explain and understand technical complexity effectively.
- Manage requirements and own requirements documentation.
- Create technical and architectural documents, including options assessments and designs.
- Implement DevSecOps practices for automation and improvement in development processes.
- Design and migrate to public cloud capabilities in M365/Azure and AWS.
- Maintain knowledge of auditing and security product configurations.
- Understand and apply NCSC, GDS, CIS, Cyber Essentials, and NIST IT security principles.
Key Skills:
- SC or DV Security Clearance.
- Experience in enterprise and virtual environments.
- Proficiency in server/operating systems (Microsoft and Linux).
- Knowledge of network technologies, including Hybrid Cloud, Gateways, and VMware platforms.
- Experience with SASE architecture, Cisco, and Palo Alto.
- DevSecOps experience in CI/CD processes.
- Understanding of UK government technology strategies and policies.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Containerisation, and Microservices.

A Senior Technical Architect with SC or DV Security Cleared required by our government services client based near Milton Keynes. Commutable from Northampton, East Midlands, Bedford, Luton, North London.
Working in an SC Security Cleared environment. SC or DV (Developed Vetting) Clearance required, due to the urgency of the role, or you will be eligible to undertake clearance.Excellent people skills and an ability to explain and understand technical complexity.
Experience in relevant roles, including technologies in enterprise and virtual environments and of working within a secure environment such as the MOD, CTP and Home Office.
Experience of server/operating system (Microsoft and Linux), network technologies, as a minimum:
- Hybrid Cloud, Gateways, PKI, Email, VMware virtualisation platforms (including VCD, VSAN, and NSX), SASE architecture, Cisco, Palo Alto
Experience creating technical and architectural documents such as options assessments, low and high-level technical designs.
DevSecOps experience in automation and improvement in development and release processes (Continuous Integration Continuous Delivery).
Experience of requirements management and the ownership of requirements.
Experience in design and migration to public cloud capabilities in M365/Azure and AWS.
Working knowledge of auditing and security products configuration.
A comprehensive understanding of NCSC, GDS, CIS, Cyber Essentials, and NIST IT security principles, along with experience in UK government technology strategies and policies.

Worked in a matrix organisation structure.
