Summary: The Technical Architect role in Guildford involves providing advice and guidance during implementation while ensuring technology governance across multiple areas. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide advice and guidance during implementation while reporting to the technical lead.
- Ensure technology governance across multiple areas for the benefit of the company.
- Collaborate with Solution and Integration Architects to deliver IT Solution Architecture.
- Translate business requirements into technology, service, and security deliverables.
- Identify risks and propose mitigations.
- Produce proposals and justify the value of technology strategies to senior business audiences.
- Support and design mission-critical infrastructure solutions across various technologies.
- Self-start tasks and prioritize workload on a daily basis.
Key Skills:
- Experience with large public cloud implementations, preferably Azure.
- Exposure to core technologies including Windows, Linux, Web, Middleware, Database, Security Gateways, and LAN/WAN Networking.
- Experience with MuleSoft API management.
- Ability to design secure, high-performing, and highly available technology solutions.
- IT security and risk experience as part of an architecture role.
- Experience in highly regulated environments, such as financial services, is advantageous.
- Degree or HND in Information Technology is desirable but not essential.
- Relevant technical and business qualifications (e.g., TOGAF, ITIL) are desirable but not essential.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of Waterfall and Agile delivery methodologies.
- Knowledge of continuous integration and deployment processes/methods/tools is desirable.

Job Description:
The Role is not ‘hands-on’, nor is it a Technical Lead Role as you will report to the technical lead, but it may entail working with SME’s to provide Advice & Guidance during implementation. The Role includes Technology Governance across multiple Technology areas to ensure that the right decisions are being made, and are for the benefit of the Company. The Role sits in a small team of Technical Architects, reporting to the Principal Architect for Technology. The TA’s work closely with Solution and Integration Architects in the wider team to deliver IT Solution Architecture.
You will:
- You will have a very broad experience of Enterprise Technologies, having previously worked in a wide variety of SME roles.
- You will have excellent interpersonal skills, having the ability to interact at all Business levels. This includes everyone from the CEO to Technical SME’s. Your skills will include the ability to work individually, and as part of a focussed team.
- You will have the ability to translate Business Requirements into Technology, Service and Security Deliverables. As part of this, you will be able to identify risks and propose mitigations.
- You will have a practical knowledge of Security and Risk.
- You will be able to demonstrate experience at producing proposals and justifying the value of Technology Strategies to Senior Business audiences.
- You will have experience in Supporting and Designing Mission Critical Infrastructure Solutions across a wide variety of Technologies.
- You will have experience of self-starting tasks, and self-prioritising your workload on a day to day basis.
Your skills:
- Support, Implementation and Solution Design exposure to large Public Cloud implementations (Preferably Azure) is essential.
- Support, Implementation and Solution Design exposure to core Technologies (Windows, Linux, Web, Middleware, Database, Security Gateways, LAN/WAN Networking) and specifically MuleSoft API management is essential.
- Experience of designing (including requirements traceability) secure, high performing, highly available Technology Solutions is essential.
- IT Security and Risk experience as part of an Architecture role is essential.
- Experience of working in highly regulated environment (eg Financial Services) is an advantage.
- Degree or HND in Information Technology are desirable but not essential - Equivalent experience considered.
- Relevant Technical and Business Qualifications (eg. TOGAF, ITIL) are desirable, but not essential.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, including the ability to assess the audience and pitch / influence appropriately.
- Knowledge and experience of Waterfall and Agile delivery methodologies is essential.
