Summary: The Lead Technical Architect role involves leading a digital transformation project within a public sector organization, focusing on replacing a legacy case management system. The position requires collaboration with various teams to assess current systems and implement modern solutions while ensuring knowledge transfer. The role is contract-based for 12 months and requires active security clearance. The candidate will define technical strategies and mentor teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and maintain technical strategy, architecture, and roadmap in line with government and organisational standards.
  • Lead, mentor, and guide technical teams, fostering technical excellence and transformation.
  • Design and assure technical solutions that align with wider organisational strategy.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders, providing technical and non-technical guidance.

Key Skills:

  • Experience with TypeScript/Node, AWS (Terraform), Kubernetes, GitHub, CI/CD.
  • Knowledge of Prometheus, Grafana, AppInsights, GitHub Actions, CircleCI.
  • Familiarity with Oracle DB, WebLogic & Forms, Tungsten TotalAgility, SQL Server.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Salary (Rate): £745 daily

Job Title: Lead Technical Architect

Location: Glasgow area / 2 - 3 days per week

Project Overview:

Join a digital transformation team within a public sector organisation, replacing a legacy case management system with modern, user-focused digital service.


Initially, you will work as part of a discovery team to assess the current landscape, explore replacement options, and define a strategic roadmap. You will then act as the technical lead for the implementation phase, working closely with in-house teams to ensure inclusion and knowledge transfer, and collaborating with multi-disciplinary digital product teams.
