Summary: The Technical Architect role involves leading the design and transformation of legacy technology platforms within a Unified Virtual Management (UVM) Infrastructure environment. The position focuses on modernizing aging systems while ensuring the integrity and continuity of existing critical services. The candidate must have SC Clearance and will work in a hybrid setting. This role requires collaboration with various teams to ensure compliance and best practices in architecture design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical architecture design for Legacy system integration and transformation.
  • Develop modernisation strategies while supporting the continuity of existing UVM-based infrastructure.
  • Conduct architecture assessments of Legacy platforms and recommend scalable, secure upgrades.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, DevOps, and security teams to ensure compliance and best practices.
  • Provide technical leadership in projects involving UVM, hypervisors, and virtual infrastructure.
  • Translate business requirements into architectural blueprints and solution designs.
  • Ensure architecture aligns with enterprise standards, performance, and resilience goals.
  • Support risk analysis, migration planning, and technical assurance for ongoing changes.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Technical Architect working on legacy systems modernisation.
  • Strong understanding of UVM (Unified Virtual Management) or similar virtual infrastructure environments.
  • Background in infrastructure architecture, systems integration, and virtualisation.
  • Experience in mainframe Legacy platforms.
  • Familiarity with migration approaches, especially phased or hybrid transition models.
  • Excellent stakeholder communication and technical documentation skills.
  • Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, or similar technologies.
  • Knowledge of cloud integration (Azure, AWS) for hybrid legacy-modern environments.
  • Exposure to ITIL, TOGAF, or other architectural frameworks.
