Technical Architect - Glasgow

Key Responsibilities

• Define solution architectures for AWS-based containerised platforms
• Provide technical leadership across multiple delivery streams
• Work closely with engineering teams to solve technical challenges and provide architectural guidance
• Support architecture governance and design assurance activities
• Engage with business and technical stakeholders to understand requirements and shape solutions
• Work across complex programmes with multiple workstreams and dependencies
• Provide hands-on support to delivery teams where required
• Contribute to technical decision-making and strategic direction
• Support Agile delivery teams throughout the delivery lifecycle

Key Skills & Experience

• AWS experience within the last two years (hands-on preferred)
• Experience with at least two of the following:
• Java
• Spring Boot
• MySQL
• Aurora DB
• Experience designing solutions on AWS-based containerised platforms
• Experience working within Agile environments (Scrum and/or Kanban)
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Experience working across multiple teams and programmes simultaneously
• Demonstrable hands-on experience supporting delivery teams and resolving technical issues
• Ability to quickly understand complex technical environments and become self-sufficient
• Experience producing architecture artefacts and guiding solutions through governance processes

Desirable Experience

• Existing SC Clearance
• Public sector or government programme experience
• Cloud-native architecture experience
• Experience within highly regulated environments
• Experience delivering large-scale digital transformation programmes
• AWS cloud migration or modernisation projects
