Summary: The Technical Accounting Lead role focuses on managing and coordinating the financial operations and risk management of the Company’s defined benefit pension scheme. The position requires collaboration with senior management and stakeholders to enhance pension controls, reporting, and strategic planning. The role is based in London and involves a mix of technical accounting and actuarial responsibilities. This is a 6-month contract position classified as inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and enhance the pensions control framework to ensure alignment with audit expectations.
- Review and enhance the pensions models to ensure alignment with audit expectations.
- Work on the monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting of pension accounting and risk information.
- Support the Director of Pensions and Head of Pension Risk in preparation and documentation for statutory and non-statutory committees.
- Prepare pension information for strategic planning purposes.
- Prepare the scheme costs budget and monitor performance against budget.
- Engage with professional advisors for actuarial valuations and audit exercises.
- Coordinate the annual review of pensions actuarial assumptions.
- Work with key stakeholders in finance, capital management, and scheme trustees.
- Input into preparing and implementing the Schemes forward-looking Business Plans.
Key Skills:
- Solid experience as a Finance Manager.
- Experience supporting Pensions Accounts.
- Experience working in the Financial Services Sector.
