Summary: The role of Technical Accountant within Grant Thornton's Agile Talent Community involves providing interim finance services to clients across various industries. The position allows for hybrid working, with the flexibility to choose projects and work either full or part-time. Candidates are expected to have significant experience in financial accounting and reporting, particularly in larger organizations. The engagement can be through a Personal Service Company or Limited Company, with IR35 status determined on an assignment basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide on-demand and project-focused accounting services to clients.
- Work alongside client finance teams in diverse organizations.
- Prepare half and full-year-end accounts and manage audit liaison.
- Consolidate group accounts and manage intercompany accounting.
- Prepare year-end statutory accounts and financial reports under various GAAP standards.
Key Skills:
- Fully qualified member of a professional accounting body (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Experience as Financial Controller/Group FC or Financial Director/Group FD.
- Experience in companies with an annual turnover of over £50m, ideally within a listed FTSE business.
- Proficiency in financial reporting under IFRS, UK GAAP, US GAAP, or international GAAP.
- Experience in preparation of monthly management accounts.

Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) team focus is interim finance professionals who provide an on-demand and project-focused accounting service for us and our clients. Whilst working on a project, you will typically work (on-site or remotely) alongside the finance team of one of our clients in diverse organizations from all industry sectors ranging from larger SMEs to multi-billion corporations and listed entities.
Joining the Agile Talent Community as an Interim Technical Accountant, you will have the freedom to work on projects that you choose, whether full or part-time within the FAAS team and support our clients and internal teams on short to medium-term assignments.
Skills we are looking for
Fully qualified member of a professional accounting body such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent. Acted as Financial Controller/Group FC, Financial Director/Group FD Experience working within Industry, in a company with an Annual Turnover of a minimum of over £50m+, ideally within a listed FTSE Business. Experience in half and full-year-end accounts preparation and audit liaison and preparation of monthly management accounts. Group Accounts Consolidation and Intercompany accounting. Financial reporting under IFRS, UK GAAP, US GAAP, or international GAAP. Preparation of year-end statutory accounts and audits.
