Summary: The Team Manager for the Duty and Assessment Team will oversee and enhance the practice of social workers to ensure timely and appropriate interventions for children and young people. This role emphasizes quality assurance, performance management, and the modeling of restorative practices within the team. The successful candidate will engage in mandatory training and foster collaborative relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. The position is based on-site in Totnes, requiring a commitment to regular attendance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, support, and develop the Duty and Assessment team, ensuring that high standards of practice are maintained.
- Ensure that children and young people are receiving timely and appropriate interventions to improve their outcomes.
- Quality assure social work practice and provide performance management when needed.
- Model restorative approaches within the team, supporting social workers to deliver best practice.
- Attend and engage in mandatory training to support professional development and enhance team effectiveness.
- Manage case allocations and ensure effective and efficient delivery of services.
- Participate in management meetings and provide guidance on safeguarding and court work.
- Build strong relationships within the team and with external stakeholders to promote a collaborative approach to service delivery.

- Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills to lead, support, and develop the team.
- A proven track record in managing complex cases and promoting high standards of practice.

- Experience working within a restorative local authority or a similar environment.
