Summary: The Team Manager for the Duty and Assessment Team will oversee and enhance the practice of social workers within the Assessment & Intervention service in South. This role focuses on ensuring timely interventions for children and young people, quality assurance of social work practices, and modeling restorative approaches. The successful candidate will engage in mandatory training and foster collaborative relationships within the team and with external stakeholders. This position is critical for improving outcomes for children and families through effective leadership and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, support, and develop the Duty and Assessment team, ensuring that high standards of practice are maintained.
  • Ensure that children and young people are receiving timely and appropriate interventions to improve their outcomes.
  • Quality assure social work practice and provide performance management when needed.
  • Model restorative approaches within the team, supporting social workers to deliver best practice.
  • Attend and engage in mandatory training to support professional development and enhance team effectiveness.
  • Manage case allocations and ensure effective and efficient delivery of services.
  • Participate in management meetings and provide guidance on safeguarding and court work.
  • Build strong relationships within the team and with external stakeholders to promote a collaborative approach to service delivery.

Key Skills:

  • Significant experience as a Team Manager in Safeguarding and court work.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills to lead, support, and develop the team.
  • A proven track record in managing complex cases and promoting high standards of practice.
  • Excellent communication and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
  • Experience working within a restorative local authority or a similar environment.
  • A relevant social work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
