Tax Advice & Compliance Manager Location: Derby

We are currently recruiting for a Tax Advice and Compliance Manager to join a local authority finance team in Derby.

This is a key role responsible for providing expert tax advice and compliance support across a complex organisation, with a strong focus on: VAT, including partial exemption and capital schemes. Employment taxes, including IR35 and benefits-in-kind. Property-related taxes and land/property transactions. CIS compliance. HMRC enquiries, audits, and negotiations. Improving tax processes, controls, and organisational awareness.

We are looking for a qualified finance professional with strong technical tax knowledge, excellent stakeholder management skills, and the ability to communicate complex tax issues clearly to non-specialists.

Essential: CCAB qualified, including CIMA. Strong experience in tax compliance. Experience within public sector finance is desirable. CTA, ATT, or equivalent tax qualification is an advantage.
