Summary: The Target Operating Model Analyst role involves collaborating with stakeholders to design and implement effective operating models within a public sector organization in Edinburgh. Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish effective relationships with stakeholders and utilize strong communication skills to build trust.
  • Work closely with project teams on transformational change projects and support the implementation of change.
  • Review and document current processes to identify areas for improvement and redesign processes for efficiency.
  • Review the current organizational structure to design optimal scenarios for increasing efficiency.
  • Collate and review performance statistics and align process and structure design changes to improve performance.
  • Create and maintain documentation demonstrating effective processes and operating model states.
  • Develop a strategic target operating model that aligns with the organization’s strategic goals.
  • Undertake additional duties as reasonably requested within the consultancy scope.

Key Skills:

  • Experience designing Target Operating Models within organizations with multiple business areas.
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders to define and create a Strategic Target Operating Model.
  • Experience with change management teams to deliver transformational programs, including digital transformations.
  • Experience in a public sector setting.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams to deliver value.
  • Relevant qualifications in business architecture, process design, or management.
  • Proven experience as a Target Operating Model Consultant or similar.

Detailed Description From Employer:

Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Target Operating Model Analyst for an initial 12 month contract with option to extend on a rate of £450-£500/day (Outside IR35). This role will be based in Edinburgh - home working will be considered subject to attendance where needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish effective relationships with a variety of stakeholders across the organisation and utilise strong communication skills to build trust. Ensure engagement and collaboration are key focuses to create an aligned vision for an effective and efficient improvements.
  • Work closely with project teams on transformational change projects and support the implementation of change across the organisation. Ensure change projects are delivered to an operating model that is effective and efficient.
  • Review and document current processes across the organisation to understand areas for improvement. Work collaboratively with stakeholders to redesign processes that ensure efficiency is maximised. Put the user at the heart of process redesign and implement process designs that create a higher performing operation. Work with the project teams to understand the deliverables of a project through early engagement and design processes to optimise the implementation of systems, solutions and working practices.
  • Review the current structure of the organisation including at individual team level to understand working practices and design structures that create optimal scenarios for increasing efficiency.
  • Collate and review current performance statistics through collaborative working with existing teams. Understand and scrutinise key performance indicators and align suggested process and structure design changes to improve performance across the organisation. Make recommendations based on data driven evidence that support improved performance.
  • Create and maintain documentation for the organisation that demonstrates effective processes, structures and operating model states. Develop a strategic target operating model that aligns to the organisation’s strategic goals.
  • May be required to undertake such duties as may reasonably be requested within the scope of the consultancy post.

Essential Skills:

  • Experience of designing Target Operating Models within an organisation with multiple business areas.
  • Experience of working with senior stakeholders to define and create a Strategic Target Operating Model across an organisation with a complex structure.
  • Experience of working with change management teams to deliver and implement transformational programmes, including the delivery of significant digital transformations.
  • Experience of working within a public sector setting
