Tableau BI Specialist - 12 months - London/Reading - £490/day - Inside IR35

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deliver scalable, enterprise-grade Tableau dashboards, reports, and scorecards, architecting governed BI environments with structured publishing standards and version control
• Build advanced analytics using LOD expressions, table calculations, parameters, and dynamic dashboard features, implementing secure row-level and column-level data access controls
• Develop robust dimensional data models including fact and dimension structures, integrating data from cloud platforms, on-premises databases, and flat files
• Write efficient SQL queries for transformation and performance optimisation, collaborating with data engineering teams to support ELT workflows
• Conduct performance analysis, optimise workbook load times, configure incremental refresh strategies, and recommend database indexing and tuning improvements
• Establish BI governance frameworks, naming conventions, and publishing standards, ensuring compliance with data privacy and regulatory requirements
• Develop forecasting models, trend analyses, and support Embedded analytics solutions, contributing to modern BI architecture initiatives within cloud environments
• Translate business requirements into scalable analytics solutions, define KPIs, and present insights through compelling data storytelling
• Guide and mentor junior BI professionals, conduct technical reviews, and lead BI initiatives across small project teams

What You Will Ideally Bring

• Advanced expertise in Tableau Desktop, Tableau Cloud, and Tableau Prep Builder (essential)
• Strong SQL proficiency for complex querying and optimisation (essential)
• Deep understanding of data warehousing principles and dimensional modelling
• Experience handling large-scale datasets in enterprise environments
• Knowledge of BI governance, security implementation, and access control design
• Proven ability to gather requirements and deliver business-aligned analytics solutions
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and mentoring skills

Desirable

• Experience with ELT tools such as DBT, familiarity with Google Cloud Platform, exposure to Embedded analytics, knowledge of data cataloguing tools such as Atlan, experience with forecasting or predictive analytics models, and Tableau certification
