Systems Engineer

Summary: The Systems Engineer role at BAE Systems involves supporting critical systems engineering and requirements management for product development. The position requires expertise in systems engineering tools and processes, along with delivering training and managing product requirements. The role is hybrid, requiring 3-4 days on-site in Huddersfield, and is classified as inside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in systems engineering and requirements management tools (e.g. DOORS).
• Define, maintain, and promote systems engineering processes, workflows, and best practices.
• Deliver regular training sessions to Engineering teams on tool usage and methodologies.
• Manage product requirement sets and engineering risk registers.
• Support integration with cross-functional platforms such as SolidEdge, Ansys, SAP, and Microsoft Office.
• Continuously identify and implement process improvements to drive a culture of continuous improvement.
• Ensure engineering development is aligned with the Product Lifecycle and compliance with quality standards.
