Key Responsibilities:
- Review the implementation of Sage Intacct and assist in preparing for go-lives of additional entities.
- Support the implementation of ERP across various financial areas including accounts payable, cash management, and financial reporting.
- Liaise with business sponsors to scope new finance ERP initiatives and resolve issues escalated by Implementation Leads.
- Ensure milestones and deliverables for assigned tasks are completed according to plans.
- Assist in change management strategies and drive ongoing training initiatives for users.
- Configure and maintain financial system settings for accurate data capture and reporting.
- Train and support finance team members in the use of financial systems and procedures.
- Coordinate system development and enhancements with third parties.
Key Skills:
- Qualified Accountant with strong understanding of accounting principles.
- Experience supporting or leading at least two end-to-end ERP implementations.
- Extensive knowledge of small to medium ERP systems such as Sage Intacct and SAP.
- Strong stakeholder management skills across various levels.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Systems Accountant - ERP Implementation 6+ month contract £300 - £400 per day (outside IR35), or FTC considered West Midlands (hybrid) SystemsAccountants are currently working with a global charity mid-way through their ERP implementation and seeking to bring on a Systems Accountant to join their project team. This is a project covering the implementation of an accounting system (Sgae Intacct), global business planning system, and expenses system. Reporting to the Global Finance Systems Project Manager and the Global Head of Finance, this Finance Systems Implementation Accountant will be a key member of the Finance Systems ERP Implementation project team. Our client are looking for an experienced finance systems administrator with experience supporting end to end ERP implementations, and a proven track record as a subject matter expert on ERP systems and process improvement.
Role Responsibilities
- Review the implementation so far of Sage Intacct, and assist in the preparation and successful go-lives for additional entities over coming months.
- Support the implementation of an ERP across managed areas: accounts payable, POP, accounts receivable, cash management, chart of accounts, general ledger, expenses, fixed assets, payroll, projects and financial reporting
- Support scoping and project management in the implementation of a new Global Reporting and Planning solution for Finance
- Support other finance related initiatives including automation of Global and Regional Reporting for key stakeholders
- Liaise with business sponsors to scope new finance ERP initiatives and integration processes
- Resolve issues escalated by the Implementation Leads in a timely and effective manner, in consultation with key project and business stakeholders
- Ensure milestones and deliverables for all assigned tasks are completed according to plans
- Identify implementation risks and implement effective mitigation measures
- Successfully on-board and off-board resources which are assigned to an implementation project
- Assists in change management strategies for adoption of new systems or system changes throughout the project life cycle relative to reporting needs
- Ensure that the system/process users’ interests are known and communicated to other project stakeholders.
- Assist with organisational wide developmental needs on end-to-end ERP business processes & systems to drive on-going training initiatives
- Frequently reassesses project scope to ensure projects are carried out according to established plan, keeping project on schedule and ensuring resources are on task
- Assist in the creation and execution of process flows, work instruction, test scripts and end user training
- Assist in reviewing and validating data, providing documented solutions to identified issues
- Configure and maintain financial system settings to ensure accurate data capture and reporting
- Stay up to date on the latest financial system updates and best practices
- Establish and maintain comprehensive system documentation
- Ensure the confidentiality and security of all financial data
- Reviewing financial system performance and proactively identify system issues to deliver overall system optimisation
- Design and implement internal system controls (preventative and detective) to provide quality assurance over financial data
- Review and maintain financial system policies and procedures to meet and support business requirements
- Train and support finance team members in the use of financial systems and procedures
- Establish and maintain an agreed and parametrised ‘fit for purpose’ business intelligence software solution for finance
- Coordinate system development and enhancements with third parties
- Support the budget planning process through loading budget data into the planning solution
- Assist with developing and maintaining report templates in best of system platforms
Role Requirements
- Qualified Accountant with strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Experience having supported or led at least two end to end ERP implementations
- Experience working in project and BAU environments.
- Extensive knowledge of small to medium ERP systems – Sage Intacct, SAP ByDesign, SAP Public Cloud, NetSuite, Dynamics BC etc.
- Extremely strong stakeholder management skills at all levels and from all backgrounds i.e. business stakeholders, technical/functional architects, developers, internal management … etc.
- Background in not for profit/charity industry preferable
- Collaborative style with strong interpersonal, relationship building and influencing skills.
- Ability to identify and effectively manage risks and issues.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in preparing reports, presentations and analysis.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills – particularly in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
