Summary: As a NICHE System Administrator specializing in policing, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing secure IT environments that manage classified law enforcement data. This role demands expertise in high-security infrastructure and compliance with criminal justice regulations and cyber security frameworks. You will oversee various police IT systems and ensure operational resilience while collaborating with cybercrime units and forensic IT specialists.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain, configure, and optimize secure police IT systems and networks.
- Oversee criminal intelligence databases, evidence management platforms, and officer communication tools.
- Ensure compliance with Home Office guidelines, CJIS security policies, and GDPR regulations.
- Implement access controls and encryption measures to protect sensitive law enforcement data.
- Monitor real-time system performance, proactively identifying security threats or vulnerabilities.
- Work closely with cybercrime units, forensic IT specialists, and emergency response teams.
- Manage secure cloud environments and disaster recovery protocols for policing IT systems.
- Assist with digital forensics investigations, supporting officers with evidence extraction and retention.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience in IT system administration within government, policing, or security sectors.
- Configuring/managing NICHE system.
- Active NPPV3 clearance (used currently or within the last 6 months).
- Build and configure NICHE and also help set up workflows.
- Understanding permissions.
- Used to building out hierarchy.
