Summary: The Syndicated Loans Quality Control Analyst role at JP Morgan in London involves performing quality control reviews of syndicated loan documentation and related facilities. The position requires collaboration with global partners to ensure operational excellence and compliance within the loan lifecycle. The analyst will also contribute to the development of quality control frameworks and engage in strategic quality initiatives. This is a 6-month on-site contract position focused on enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of loan operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform end-to-end Quality Control (QC) reviews of syndicated and bilateral loan documentation and related facilities across Loan IQ and credit risk systems.
  • Conduct QC checks on ongoing fees recorded in Loan IQ platform.
  • Support development of the QC framework within the EMEA Origination team.
  • Provide SME guidance on Loan IQ and credit system QC processes.
  • Ensure QC scoring procedures are updated timely when key closing components change.
  • Monitor daily, weekly, monthly QC production-based metrics to identify trends.
  • Review and address Quality Assurance review findings escalating as required.
  • Make strategic recommendations to improve reperformance efficiency or effectiveness.
  • Engage technology partners to help drive functional improvements or efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities to improve QC workflow and drive change.
  • Assist the team manager in the creation of tailored development and training plans, including development of training materials and procedures for QC scoring.
  • Contribute to strategic quality initiatives such as the ACESX migration.
  • Participate in internal quality forums and working groups representing the QC team.

Key Skills:

  • In-depth technical operations knowledge of the loan product/syndicated loan business essential, including an understanding of a credit agreement, loan funding mechanics, deal and fee structures advantageous.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks appropriately, whilst operating within a fast-changing and high-pressured environment.
  • Experience in loan operations/transaction management advantageous.
  • Prior experience and knowledge of GL accounting, payment processing and cash reconciliation advantageous.
  • Loan IQ system application knowledge an advantage.
  • Attention to detail; understanding of the risks and downstream impacts of inaccurate data capture.
  • High degree of numeracy and aptitude for analytical examination of problems; attention to detail being paramount.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; interact professionally and confidently with senior deal team members within the Front Office globally.
  • Communication skills - ability to communicate professionally and accurately in written and oral form, and summarise issues succinctly and set out well thought-out solutions.

We are seeking a Syndicated Loans Analyst with quality controls experience to join JP Morgan's Wholesale Lending Services business in London on an initial 6 months contract.

What you'll do:

As part of the EMEA Origination Quality Control Team within the Wholesale Lending Services team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting Debt Capital Markets (DCM - consisting of Leveraged Finance (LF) and Investment Grade (IG) Transactions), and Credit Risk for all syndicated deal originations and transactions to ensure new loan agreements and amendments are operationally viable, recorded accurately, and any exceptions are managed accordingly - continuously operating within a controls-focused environment, and ensuring operational excellence throughout the loan lifecycle. You will collaborate with global partners and stakeholders, influence key outcomes, and foster a culture of innovation, inclusivity, and continuous improvement.
