Summary: The Senior Planning Officer role involves managing a diverse caseload within Development Management for a public sector organization. Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing and determining a caseload of planning applications, negotiating amendments and assessing against policy and material considerations

  • Supporting colleagues, including coaching and input into supervision of junior staff where required

Key Skills:

  • Degree in Planning or equivalent relevant experience
  • MRTPI member, or eligible
  • Strong local authority Development Management experience (applications, committee, appeals; enforcement exposure useful)
  • Confident communicator with excellent report writing skills
  • Full UK driving licence

Spencer Clarke Group are working with a public sector organisation to appoint a Senior Planning Officer to support Development Management.

You will manage a varied caseload, produce high-quality reports and recommendations, help ensure decisions are robust, defensible and delivered to performance targets.
