Summary: The Sustainability Project Manager role in Crewe focuses on driving sustainability initiatives within procurement and supply chain operations. The position requires collaboration with procurement teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to implement sustainability strategies that minimize environmental impact and enhance supplier compliance. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and deliver procurement sustainability projects from concept through to implementation
- Drive delivery of the procurement sustainability roadmap and associated improvement initiatives
- Support supply chain decarbonisation activities and supplier sustainability programmes
- Assist with the integration of sustainability into sourcing and supplier selection processes
- Support supplier compliance, due diligence, risk management, and sustainability reporting activities
- Coordinate governance activities, project tracking, reporting, and stakeholder updates
- Help implement traceability and chain of custody processes across the supply chain
- Develop practical guidance, templates, and training materials for procurement teams and suppliers
- Monitor KPIs and sustainability metrics including emissions, waste, energy, and water data
Key Skills:
- Experience in procurement, supply chain sustainability, ESG, or project management
- Strong organisational and stakeholder management skills
- Experience managing cross-functional projects and delivering operational improvements
- Knowledge of supplier sustainability, decarbonisation, compliance, or responsible sourcing
- Strong communication, reporting, and analytical skills
- The ability to work collaboratively across internal teams and supplier networks
- Experience with Product Carbon Footprint (PCF), Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), traceability, or supply chain sustainability regulations would be desirable
