Summary: The Sustainability Data Quality Assurance UAT Lead will oversee QA and UAT processes for sustainability reporting solutions, ensuring data quality and compliance with reporting standards. This role requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including technology teams and vendors, to establish testing governance and maintain audit-ready outputs. The position demands a hands-on approach to address complex testing scenarios and drive continuous improvement in QA practices. The contract is for an initial period of four months, with a hybrid working arrangement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define, govern, and continuously improve the QA framework covering unit testing, QA, UAT, and live proving cycles
  • Lead end-to-end QA/UAT planning and execution across vendor-led and internally delivered testing
  • Own testing strategy, adequacy, acceptance, and evidence quality, ensuring all outputs are audit-ready
  • Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders to align on scope, priorities, timelines, and acceptance criteria
  • Track vendor test execution, defect resolution, root cause analysis, retesting, and closure
  • Challenge insufficient testing, weak evidence, unexplained variances, or premature passes
  • Design and maintain internal test cases to cover audit-critical scenarios, edge cases, and high-risk areas
  • Ensure clear entry and exit criteria for all testing phases
  • Reconcile outputs across systems and reference scorecards, proactively addressing discrepancies
  • Conduct targeted validation of calculations, transformation logic, mappings, and factor libraries
  • Lead QA/UAT for sustainability reporting periods outside vendor scope
  • Ensure robust defect management processes using JIRA
  • Maintain traceability documentation, test evidence, and reusable test assets
  • Proactively identify and escalate delivery and quality risks
  • Coach stakeholders on QA best practices and standards

Key Skills:

  • Experience in Data Quality Assurance, QA/UAT Lead, or similar roles within the Sustainability Data space.
  • Experience working within a MSM - Microsoft Sustainability Manager and ESG Data Lake Environment is essential.
  • Knowledge of sustainability reporting data (eg Scope 1/2/3, packaging, waste, water) is highly advantageous; as well as Supply chain packaging, sourcing, sustainability and ERP.
  • Proven expertise in test strategy, test planning, scenario design, and defect management
  • Stakeholder management skills across business, technology, and third-party vendors
  • Experience challenging vendors and driving clarity on requirements, RCA, and acceptance
  • Ability to interrogate data, mappings, transformations, and calculation logic
  • SQL and data validation skills
  • Experience delivering high-quality QA under tight timelines

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Sustainability Data Quality Assurance UAT Lead working with Microsoft Sustainability Manager to take ownership of QA and UAT across complex sustainability reporting solutions. This role plays a critical part in ensuring data quality, robustness, and audit-ready outcomes across both vendor-led and internal testing activities.

The Sustainability Data Quality Assurance UAT Lead will act as the authority for QA and UAT, setting standards, challenging outputs, and ensuring testing is comprehensive, well-evidenced, and aligned with sustainability reporting and assurance requirements. Working across Digital & Technology teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors, you'll lead end-to-end testing governance while remaining hands-on where rigour is required.
