Summary: The Supply Chain Risk Manager role at AMS involves leading and managing operational risk and controls within the Supply Chain department of a major UK retail bank. Key Responsibilities:
- Owning and managing the operational risk and controls for the Supply Chain department in alignment with the bank's risk frameworks.
- Collaborating with business control teams, the second line of defence (2LOD), and internal audit to ensure comprehensive risk management across all supply chain activities.
- Developing and implementing risk and control measures that strike a balance between enabling agile business processes and maintaining appropriately scaled risk management practices.
- Acting as a bridge between business and risk language, translating complex risk concepts into understandable terms for stakeholders at all levels.
- Establishing monitoring mechanisms to review the effectiveness of controls and report findings to senior management, ensuring that risks are identified and managed proactively.
- Developing and delivering training programmes to enhance risk awareness and foster a culture of risk management within the Supply Chain team.
- Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in processes, controls, and risk management practices, driving efficiency and effectiveness.
Key Skills:
- Supply Chain Management experience.
- Financial Services experience.
- Strong understanding of risk management frameworks and methodologies.
- Excellent Stakeholder Management experience.
- A degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional qualifications in risk management (e.g., PRINCE2, Six Sigma) are advantageous.
- Experience of the use of Jagger and Process Unity are beneficial.

On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Supply Chain Risk Manager for a contract until the end of 2025 based in London - hybrid working.
Purpose of the Role:
To lead and manage operational risk and controls within our Supply Chain department. This role is essential in ensuring that our risk frameworks are adhered to and effectively integrated into business processes. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of both business requirements and risk management principles, enabling them to strategically balance process agility with appropriate risk controls.
