Summary: The Supply Chain Project Manager role focuses on leading supply chain initiatives within a UK-leading retailer, emphasizing freight forwarding and logistics optimization. The position requires a dynamic individual with extensive experience in managing end-to-end supply chain processes and improving operational performance. The role involves collaboration with suppliers and logistics partners to resolve issues and deliver projects on time and within budget. This is a six-month contract with a hybrid working arrangement based in Liverpool.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead supply chain projects with a strong focus on freight forwarding and logistics optimisation
  • Manage and improve the end-to-end supply chain process across suppliers, 3PLs, and internal stakeholders
  • Identify bottlenecks, pain points, and inefficiencies throughout the supply chain
  • Work closely with suppliers and logistics partners to develop, track, and implement resolutions to ongoing issues
  • Deliver project milestones on time and within budget, reporting to senior stakeholders
  • Support transformation efforts across freight, warehousing, and distribution

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in supply chain and logistics, ideally within retail or FMCG
  • In-depth knowledge of freight forwarding, logistics providers, and global shipping processes
  • Strong experience working with 3PLs, freight partners, and cross-functional supply chain teams
  • Ability to identify root causes and deliver effective, pragmatic solutions
  • Excellent stakeholder management, supplier engagement, and communication skills
  • Experience managing projects outside IR35 desirable
