Summary: The Supply Chain Lead role involves managing commercial, financial, quality, and scheduling aspects of contracts within a leading defense company. The position requires proactive supplier management and effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders. The role also emphasizes identifying cost-saving opportunities and managing risks within the supply chain. This is a contract position based in Portsmouth, Hampshire.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and negotiate all commercial, financial, quality, and schedule elements of contracts and any authorized changes.
- Pro-actively support and deliver effective supplier management and manage open order book in line with the project's integrated schedule.
- Support Line Manager in delivering KPIs.
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities.
- Identify risks, opportunities, and mitigation plans and implement accordingly.
- Act as the primary point of contact with assigned suppliers and customers (internal/external).
- Understand and adhere to the company Export Control requirements.
- Be the first port of call for escalations within the Supply Chain team.
Key Skills:
- Experience in Procurement / Supply Chain Department.
- Knowledge of commercial and contractual acumen.
- Working understanding of tool sets and IT (SAP desirable but not essential).
- Experience and understanding of MRP.
- Working knowledge of Purchase to Pay.
- Strong communicator, able to effectively influence.
- Stakeholder management (internal) + Supplier Relationship Management (SRM).
