Summary: This role is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract for a Supply Chain Engineer at Rotork in Chadderton, Oldham. The engineer will manage the upstream supply chain, focusing on supplier performance, inventory management, and process efficiencies to enhance customer service. The position requires strong analytical skills and collaboration with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for raw material and purchase part SKU parameterization, ensuring alignment with business requirements.
- Manage supplier master data within the ERP system.
- Escalate communication from suppliers regarding changes to agreements.
- Utilize inventory tools to ensure appropriate inventory availability.
- Measure and report supply base performance for on-time delivery, lead time, and order quantity.
- Build relationships with suppliers to achieve supply chain requirements.
- Act as the first level of escalation for shortages and expedite resolutions.
- Lead upstream supply chain performance improvement projects with suppliers.
- Manage product portfolio, life cycle, and NPI process with suppliers to minimize disruptions.
- Develop the supply base using lean methodology to ensure compatibility with Rotork requirements.
Key Skills:
- Educated to degree level or with relevant workplace experience/qualification.
- Strong data analysis and ERP expertise.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience and knowledge of manufacturing supply chain and Lean methodology.
- Strong inventory management skills.
- APICS certified and/or Six Sigma green belt trained (desirable).
- Excellent relationship management and communication skills.
- Able to think strategically and translate strategy into operational performance.
- Experience in leading change and delivering results.

Job Description This role is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract (FTC) based at our Chadderton, Oldham location. The Supply Chain Engineer will oversee the upstream supply chain to deliver great customer service and operational excellence by delivering effective material and information flow from our suppliers to point of use. Taking full ownership for exceptional supplier on time delivery, whilst maximising process efficiencies and driving down inventory.
Key Responsibilities And Outcomes
- Responsible for raw material and purchase part SKU parameterization, ensuring the strategy is alignedwith the business requirements.
- Responsible for supplier master data within the ERP system.
- Escalation of communication from theSuppliers advising of a change to the agreement.
- Utilize inventory tools and techniques to ensure right sizing of inventory availability.
- Ensuring inventoryright-sizing on raw material and purchased goods in transit.
- Responsible for the measuring and reporting of the supply base performance for on time delivery, leadtime and order quantity.
- Build relationships with suppliers, working collaboratively on achieving the supply chain requirements.
- First level of escalation for shortages and expediting resolution and recovery.
- Lead upstream supply chain performance improvements projects, working with the Suppliers on rootcause countermeasures and action plans.
- Manage the product portfolio, life cycle and NPI process with Suppliers to minimize disruption to supply,obsolete inventory and associated costs, by actively managing the ERP system for the end to end supplychain.
- Develop the supply base using lean methodology ensuring their processes and systems are compatiblewith Rotork requirements and are at a comparable level of operational excellence.
Qualifications Essential: Educated to degree level or with appropriate workplace experience/qualification. Strong data analysis and ERP subject matter expert Use of common tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Power point. Experience with, and sound knowledge of manufacturing supply-chain and Lean methodology. Strong inventory management skills Desirable APICs certified 6 Sigma green belt trained and/or lean equivalent.
