Summary: Nixor is seeking two Supplier Quality Engineers to join their New Model Launch team, focusing on Body-in-White processes for a major automotive client. The role involves leading APQP and PPAP processes, collaborating with suppliers, and enhancing manufacturing quality. Candidates with experience in steel or aluminium materials, particularly from Tier 1 suppliers, are preferred. This hybrid position is based in Gaydon and offers a competitive salary for an initial 12-month contract.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the delivery of APQP and PPAP across the product lifecycle, from initial concept to final approval.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure alignment on specifications, timing, and quality expectations.
- Apply expertise in Body-in-White components and processes to enhance build integrity.
- Use tools such as 8D, 5 Whys, FMEA, and Control Plans to resolve quality issues and implement preventive measures.
- Contribute to tactical and strategic procurement decisions affecting project delivery.
- Support supplier development by mentoring partners through technical challenges and program milestones.
- Interpret and validate supplier readiness against drawing requirements and internal standards.
Key Skills:
- Experience in APQP and PPAP processes.

As a Supplier Quality Engineer , you will play a pivotal role in ensuring manufacturing excellence and the robust delivery of APQP and PPAP processes for exciting new model launches. You’ll be embedded in a forward-thinking, cross-functional team shaping the future of automotive design and production. Please note: This position does not offer sponsorship. The client is particularly keen to hear from candidates with experience in steel or aluminium materials , especially those with Tier 1 supplier or Body-in-White exposure.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- APQP & PPAP Ownership : Lead the delivery of APQP and PPAP across the product lifecycle, from initial concept to final approval.
- Supplier Engagement : Collaborate with suppliers to ensure alignment on specifications, timing, and quality expectations.
- BIW Focus : Apply your expertise specifically in Body-in-White components and processes to enhance build integrity.

- Strategic Purchasing Support : Contribute to tactical and strategic procurement decisions affecting project delivery.

- Drawing & Standards Review : Interpret and validate supplier readiness against drawing requirements and internal standards.
This is a hybrid role , with three days per week based in Gaydon , offering circa £50,000 for an initial 12-month contract , paying £31.25 an hour Inside IR35 . This may also involve going abroad to visit suppliers once every 3 month.
