Summary: The Supplier Quality Engineer role involves leading supplier and part development for non-metallic suppliers within the resource industries. The position requires accountability for supplier excellence recognition, quality systems audits, and non-conformance management. The engineer will also review production part approval processes and work closely with suppliers to ensure compliance with quality standards. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Peterlee for a duration of 12 months.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Supplier and Part Development for Resource Industries (RI) Non-Metallic suppliers and parts.
  • Accountable for Supplier Excellence Recognition (SER), Quality Systems audits (CQMS), Rough Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP).
  • Work on Non-Conformance Management (NCM) from ETQ system and collaborate with suppliers for Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) for closure.
  • Review PPAP documents for assigned suppliers and identify gaps for correction and resubmission.

Key Skills:

  • Previous experience as a Supplier Development Engineer.
  • University degree & 5-7 years of experience with Non-Metallic suppliers and processes.
  • Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities with a process improvement mindset.
  • Knowledge of quality practices, methods, tools & techniques.
  • Understanding of APQP, Engineering specifications, GD&T.
  • Knowledge of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) elements and objectives.
  • Knowledge of supplier evaluations and certification processes.

Salary (Rate): 39.36
