Summary: The Supplier Development Engineer for non-metallics is responsible for ensuring supplier quality and compliance with manufacturing specifications and legal standards over a 12-month period. This role involves leading supplier and part development, conducting quality audits, and managing non-conformance issues. The engineer will work closely with suppliers to implement corrective actions and improve processes related to non-metallic components. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential for collaborating with diverse stakeholders and ensuring product quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Supplier and Part Development for Resource Industries (RI) Non-Metallic suppliers and parts.
- Review PPAP documents for assigned suppliers and identify gaps for correction and resubmission.
- Understand and assess manufacturing processes of non-metallic components.
- Work on Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) and Built in Quality (BIQ) based on Non-Conformance Management (NCM).
- Follow up on Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) for closure.
- Conduct Supplier Excellence Recognition (SER) and Quality Systems audits (CQMS).
- Engage in Rough Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP) and manage non-conformance issues from the ETQ system.
Key Skills:
- University degree and 5-7 years of experience with Non-Metallic suppliers and processes.
- Strong communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Knowledge of quality practices, methods, tools, and techniques.
- Familiarity with APQP, GD&T, and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
- Experience in supplier evaluations and certification processes.
