Summary: The Supplier Development Engineer role involves overseeing supplier processes from design concept to product life cycle within a global OEM context. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage supplier processes from design concept to end of product life.
- Act as a liaison between suppliers and various client facilities.
- Review supplier proposals for new product introductions.
- Conduct supplier process audits and ensure compliance with APQP, PPAP, and 8D reports.
- Resolve quality problems associated with purchased materials and engineering issues.
- Implement Lean Processes to ensure built-in quality in the supplier network.
Key Skills:
- Experience as a Supplier Quality Engineer or Supplier Development Engineer.
- Understanding of general machining, preferably within a foundry.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications.
- Proven experience in PPAP/APQP methods and supplier management.
- Strong communication skills for stakeholder engagement.

Joining an established, supportive, supplier development team what you will be doing?
This is a cradle to grave role where you will be responsible for the supplier’s processes from design concept to the end of product life
Provide a link between the supplier and our various clients facilities.
New Product Introduction – review supplier proposals for processing new items.
Conducting supplier process audits, ensure APQP, PPAP and 8D reports are being performed
Ensure resolution and implementation of robust solutions for quality problems associated with purchased materials and engineering issues.
Deploys Lean Processes to ensure Built in Quality in the Supplier Network.
What experience, skills and qualifications you need:
Communication is key to this role, so to be successful you must enjoy working with stakeholders at different levels within an organisation
Understanding of general machining, preferably within a foundry would be a huge advantage
Reading and understanding engineering drawing and specs is essential
Proven experience in PPAP/ APQP methods, Supplier Management and Evaluations
