Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring the quality of supplies by conducting tests and assessments on incoming supplies to identify any quality issues.
- Developing supplier inspection, testing, and evaluation mechanisms.
- Generating reports on supplier quality by monitoring defect rates and identifying areas for improvement.
- Guiding suppliers to reduce defect rates.
- Researching potential vendors and assessing their manufacturing environments, practices, and procedures.
- Conducting supplier quality control audits to ensure compliance with organizational and federal policies and standards.
- Supporting suppliers in improving performance through process enhancements and developing quality assurance plans.
Key Skills:
- Automotive knowledge ideally.
- IATF16949 or a minimum of ISO9001 Processes.
- Knowledge of general engineering processes and practices.
- Casting knowledge.
- Audit capability.
- Familiarity with quality tools and techniques.

PE Global is recruiting a Supplier Development Engineer for our industrial manufacturing client based in Peterlee/Stafford. The role is an initial 12 month contract and the rate range for this role is £27.88 - £37.68 p/h.
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring the quality of supplies by conducting tests and assessments on incoming supplies to identify any quality issues;
- Developing supplier inspection, testing, and evaluation mechanism.
- Generating reports on supplier quality, by monitoring their defect rates and areas that can lead to potential flaws;
- Guiding suppliers to reduce these defect rates.
- Researching the potential vendors, assessing their manufacturing environment, practices, and procedures;
- Conducting supplier quality control audits to ensure compliance with organisational and federal policies and standards.
- Supporting suppliers in improving their performance through process enhancements, implementing process controls, and developing quality assurance plans.
Requirements: Automotive knowledge ideally. IATF16949 or a minimum of ISO9001 Processes. Knowledge of general engineering processes and practices. Casting knowledge Audit capability Familiar with quality tools and techniques
