Summary: The Supplier Development Engineer role in Peterlee involves assessing supplier quality for non-metallic components within a global manufacturing context. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Supplier & Part Development for Resource Industries (RI) Non-Metallic suppliers and parts
- Accountable for Supplier Excellence Recognition (SER), Quality Systems audits (CQMS), Rough Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP)
- Manage Non-Conformance Management (NCM) via QMS system and collaborate with suppliers for Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA)
- Review PPAP documents for supplier parts and identify gaps for correction and resubmission
- Apply knowledge of APQP & TFC and understand manufacturing processes of non-metallic components
- Work on Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) STOP capability and Built in Quality (BIQ) based on NCM
- Follow up on Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) for closure
Key Skills:
- 5 years’ experience with Non Metallics suppliers & processes
- High technical knowledge in manufacturing & quality systems for non-metallic components
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Strong knowledge of quality practices, methods, tools & techniques
- Understanding of APQP, Engineering specifications, GD&T
- Knowledge of PPAP elements and supplier evaluations
- PC literate with ETQ experience as an advantage
