Summary: Expleo is looking for a SUMS Pack Deployment and Compatibility Operational Test Engineer to work in Gaydon, Warwickshire, on an Inside IR35 contract. The role involves updating production and engineering vehicles with the latest software packs and ensuring readiness for SOTA and integration testing. The position requires expertise in diagnosing and repairing mechanical systems, as well as conducting software updates and validation testing. The engineer will collaborate with teams to develop bespoke solutions for technical challenges in a workshop-based environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair mechanical systems (engine, chassis, etc.)
- Perform software updates and validation testing
- Conduct service, diagnostics, and repair operations on current vehicles
- Provide technical feedback to support subsystem development
- Prepare, fit, and remove test components
- Assemble and replace systems/components
- Manufacture and modify electrical harnesses
- Trace, rectify, and validate faults using diagnostic tools
- Interpret technical drawings and collaborate with engineering teams
- Engineer bespoke solutions to overcome technical challenges
Key Skills:
- Advanced knowledge of operational procedures and tools
- Experience in diagnostics and repair of automotive systems
- Proficiency with computer diagnostic equipment
- Ability to work independently in non-routine situations
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Experience leading daily operations and mentoring junior staff is a plus
