Summary: The Substance Misuse Recovery Worker role involves supporting service users through their treatment and recovery journey in Swindon. The position requires full-time commitment and includes responsibilities such as assessment, recovery planning, and promoting community involvement. The contract is for three months, starting as soon as possible. An Enhanced DBS check is necessary for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting service users from point of entry into the service and through their treatment/recovery journey
- Providing screening, assessment, and recovery planning and onward referral
- Reducing alcohol-related harm to service users and the wider community
- Promoting carer, service user, and community involvement
- Providing advocacy for access to partnership services
- Working with service users to support social (re)integration, enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives: promoting recovery, resilience, peer support, and self-determination
Key Skills:
- Experience in substance misuse recovery or related field
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to conduct assessments and develop recovery plans
- Advocacy skills for accessing partnership services
- Understanding of community involvement and support systems
- Enhanced DBS check
